VE Testing Session

Amateur Radio License Testing – W6TRW Amateur Radio Club

If you are interested in becoming an Amateur Radio Operator you need to take the appropriate test at a VE Testing session.  The MDARC typically provides testing sessions once a month.

Cost: The ARRL VEC requires that we charge $15 for each test session. If you pass a test, you can take the next level test, during the same session, at no additional cost.

We prefer if you register before the test session but will accommodate walk-ins.

Upcoming Test Sessions: for a list of upcoming test dates see our scheduled test sessions on HamStudy.org.

To Register: please goto HamStudy.org and select a session date and then click the "Register" button.

If you have any issues or questions please reach out to us via the Contact Us page.

An FCC FRN is required prior to testing.  For more information please click here.  Please bring ID, FRN, pencil, and $15 in cash, check or money order.

What to bring to an exam session.

NOTE:  As of April 19th, 2022 the FCC requires a $35 for new licences.  This payment will be made to the FCC and not to MDARC or the ARRL.  Once you pass your test(s) and the information is updated with the FCC, the FCC will send an email with payment instructions.  You will have 10 days to make the payment.   No payment to the FCC is required for license upgrades, mailing address changes, and email changes.

After the Exam please see our Amateur Radio Examinee Info page.
